A three year search is carried out for each request, which includes the year stated and also two-years either side.
If the full details listed above are not supplied and a 3 year search does not confirm the exact entry then customers may request a personal adviser to search further on their behalf, at the cost of £15 per hour.
You may apply in writing, by email, by telephone or in person. If collecting in person you will need to bring proof of identity with your name and address on it.
Any records prior to 1837, please contact Carmarthenshire Archives Service.
I would also advise you that our indexes are established for the purposes of registration duties, and are not tied to pedigrees or families. We will not know for example, whether a person had any other children, or whether they had a brother or sister etc.
The fact that a person lived in a particular area or that he/she was buried in a certain place does not mean that they were born there or that they died there.
