The Llanelli Joint Burial Authority comprises of Members of Llanelli Rural and Llanelli Town Councils and administers the Llanelli District Cemetery - a 32 acre cemetery - located at Swansea Road, Llanelli. The cemetery caters for the needs of the residents of Llanelli and district and is the only public cemetery in the town. There are over 22,000 graves in the cemetery and burials date back to 1850
