Carmarthenshire County Council and the Welsh Rugby Union have been working in partnership to develop Rugby in the County for over eight years.
The overall aim of the Rugby Development Officer is to develop the game of Rugby for players aged 8-19.
- In increase the playing base within the 8-19 age group
- To organise and deliver Festivals, Roadshows, Dragon Days, Tournaments for Young People
- To liaise with schools to provide assistance with curricular and extra curricular rugby activities and fixtures
- To provide advice and guidance on club development and funding opportunities to all rugby clubs in the County
- To improve coaching standards through the delivery of appropriate Coach Education courses
- To assist with the identification, development and preparation of District age group teams
- To establish in conjunction with partners, a rugby development plan for the County
- To raise the profile of Rugby in the County
