Departmental Communication Champions
Heads of Service and Divisional Managers will have a critical role in the communication and consultation process within their divisional areas.

In addition, to ensure there are consistent, accurate and timely updates to all staff on NJC conditions of service on the implementation of the new pay and grading structure the following Departmental Communication Champions have been suggested:

Ann Clarke: Link Officer between Departmental Officers and JE & Single Status Steering Group Ext 6167.

Nicola Hoare: Education & Children via Communications Network Team which are:

Role of the Departmental Communication Champions
The identified officers are needed to support the JE & Single Status Steering Group, Heads of Service and Divisional Managers with the following:
1. To support the implementation of the communication strategy
2. To ensure there is a mechanism within their Department to get the key communication messages issued by the steering group cascaded to all employees promptly.
3. To support the co-ordination of practical arrangements such as room bookings, administration, etc for key departmental briefing events and supporting the presentation teams.
4. To ensure the steering group are aware of all departmental communication channels, key contacts for utilising these channels, deadlines for distribution, etc
5. To develop their knowledge and understanding on the new JE & Single Status proposals and act as an initial point of contact in Departments along with line managers for queries that will arise from employees
6. To act as a liaison between Departments and the JE Steering Group on issues and concerns that arises during implementation that cannot be managed at a local level.
