Why do I need this check? 

The FREE CVD health check will help lower your chances of developing health problems in the future and will enable you to take necessary steps to maintain or improve your health.

But don't these conditions run in the family?

If you have a history of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes or kidney disease in your family then you may be more at risk. Taking action now can help you to prevent the onset of these conditions.

Will everyone have this check?

No. These checks are only available for staff over aged 40 who are not already being treated for CVD. It is only available for staff working in Carmarthenshire for Corus and Hywel Dda Health Board.
