Stress - Recognising the signs
The most common symptoms of stress - depression and worry - can stem from the emotional imact of caring. Many carers find it difficult to ask for support (often because they feel doing so is an admission they can't cope) yet depression and anxiety can lead to feelings of isolation.
When you are constanly under stress you may feel exhausted, confused, depressed and agitated and find it hard to make decisions. It's important to recognise that you cna love someone and still feel angry, guilty, depressed or resentful. These feelings are normal. It can help if you are able to discuss concerns with soemone else whether a friend, another carer or a healthcare proffessional.
