Who the service is for
Abbeyfield is a registered charity with over 1000 homes throughout the United Kingdom catering for people aged 60 years or over.
The service provided
The service provides sheltered housing.
Type of Accommodation
Each bedroom has its own separate toilet and hand basin. All ground-floor rooms, including the large dining and living room, have access from the street without any steps or kerbs.
When the service is available
Support is provided during normal office hours, with some flexibility to meet the needs of the service user. An out-of-hours on-call service is available for emergencies that arise outside of normal office hours.
How long the service can be used for
People can use the service for as long as they feel the accommodation and support services are appropriate.
How to access the service
Please contact Abbeyfield for an application pack.
The service user may need to pay for the support they receive. The service provider will help the service user to claim Housing Benefit to cover the cost of the accommodation. If the person using the service does not receive Housing Benefit, they will need to pay the rent on the accommodation that is provided. Please contact the service provider for more information about this.
This service also receives funding from the Supporting People Grant, which is paid direct to the service provider by Carmarthenshire County Council’s Supporting People section.
