Submit your building regulations application online 


Carmarthenshire Building Control is delighted to be able to offer our customers the facility to pay by Online using a Debit or Credit Card.
This option should significantly speed up the registration process and further improve our customer service.

We encourage you to submit your applications online using the forms below.

Using the online forms service you can:

l Complete the application form
l Attach supporting documentation, plans and drawings
l Submit the application to the Buidling Control Unit

We only have our 2 main application forms available online, Full Plans and Building Notice.

If you want to submit a Building Notice application for: Electrical Works, Thermal Elements or Replacement windows, doors or rooflights please use the Building Notice Application form below.  Please be aware that not all questions will be applicable.  If you have any queries please contact us on 01267 246012.

Payment by Credit or Debit Card 

We now have the facility to pay online when completing the Online Application Form. 

Or alternatively you can telephone Carmarthenshire County Council on: 01267 234567. State that you wish to pay for a Building Regulations application (BC Payment) and quote the reference number of your application (this will be provided to you after you have submitted the e-form) eg BC217 

Payment by cheque

Write a cheque payable to 'Carmarthenshire County Council'

l Clearly mark the online application reference number on the back of the cheque. 

l  Post the cheque as soon as possible to Carmarthenshire County Council, Building Control Unit, Building 16, St David’s Park, Jobswell Road, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, SA31 3HB.

How to apply 

Just select the application form link and follow the instructions on screen.

Alternatively, you can complete the application form online, print it off and submit your application, documents and plans by post or in person.

Attaching plans and drawings

The maximum number of attachments you can add online is 6.  If you have more than 6 attachments you can simply email them onto us quoting your online reference number at

All plans must have a scale bar, key dimensions, the direction of North, original paper size and scale (eg 1:200 at A3) clearly marked upon them.

While not compulsory, submitting plans and drawings on A3 will help us  process your application more efficiently. For example, consider placing fewer elevations on smaller page sizes, even if this means submitting more documents.

File Types 

For consistency it is recommended that you use the following file types, for supporting documents, wherever possible.

l Images/plans: pdf, bmp, gif, jpg/jpeg, plt, png, tif/tiff
l Documents: pdf, doc, rtf, txt, xls

When uploading supporting documents for electronic submission individual files should not exceed 5MB in size. There is currently a limit on the overall size of all attachments and we do recommend that you do not exceed 14MB.
