Plans or drawings for proposed schemes are submitted to the Council to be checked for compliance with the Building Regulations before work is started.
This is done to ensure that any alterations or amendments can be made before the building work is commenced on site, which can save time and money for the Developer.
For domestic work and new housing we require two sets of the plans. For Commercial Schemes we require four copies of the plans, as we are required to consult with the Fire Service for these types of buildings.
You will need to have plans drawn by a suitable qualified person and we suggest that you look in Yellow Pages for an Architect or Designer. It is also useful to ask someone who has recently had work done to recommend a builder. Unfortunately, the Council is unable to recommend designers or builders; however we have a number of partners who are able to offer this service.
