This is the simpler of the two methods of notification. This route is available for domestic applications, and is not generally available for commercial or industrial work ie it cannot be used for shops or offices, or erecting a new building on a private street.
Detailed plans are not always required with this type of application. A Building Notice Application Form must be completed and accompanied with a location plan.
Our charges for this procedure are the same as those for Full Plans except the whole amount is payable upon submission of the application.
Advantages of a Building Notice:
l Detailed plans are not always required, producing savings in time and cost.
Disadvantages of a Building Notice:
l You must feel confident that the works comply with current Building Regulations or you risk having to correct it after inspection.
l No Approval Notice will be issued.
l A Building Notice may not be accepted for mortgage purposes.
