All applicants (including both members of a couple) are expected to attend Preparation Training.
Usually this will take place over 3 days and will give an overview of the fostering task. At the end of the course, you should be able to make an informed decision as to whether fostering is right for you and your family.
The Preparation Group is also part of the assessment and the facilitators will compile a report with their observations about your participation, which forms part of the Form F.
We are aware that sons and daughters of prospective foster carers also need preparation for the task and we are planning to provide a session, which will help them understand what fostering involves and how it will affect them.
