Local Democracy Week is a European initiative. You can find out more about what is happening across the EU during the week at http://www.coe.int/lportal/web/coe-portal

Design an Election Poster Competition
Carmarthenshire’s Electoral Registration Office is also launching their poster competition during Local Democracy week. The goal of the competition is to encourage young people to think about voting and how we encourage people to get out there and make their mark on Election Day.
The winning poster should be designed to remind people to vote at next year’s Local Council Elections that are taking place in May 2012.
Prizes will be given to the top two winning entries and the designs will form part of the Council’s publicity campaign.
