If you have moved since October, changed your name or find for some reason that your name does not appear in the published register you can apply to get your details added or amended by completing a Rolling Registration Form.
By completing and returning a rolling registration form we can add your name to the register at your new address or make any amendments to your existing entry at any time throughout the year, but not from September to November.
The rolling registration process is suspended during these months whilst the Annual Canvass of Electors is carried out.
You must complete and sign the registration form yourself. If anyone else in your household is eligible to vote, they must fill in a separate form. Print off as many copies as you need, photocopy the form or contact the Electoral Services Unit for more copies.
Rolling Registration Application Form
You can download a Rolling Registration form from www.aboutmyvote.co.uk and click on register to vote. Complete the form and return it to: Electoral Services, 1 Spilman Street, Carmarthen SA31 1LE.
Why Register?
- You can only vote in elections if your name appears in the Register of Electors.
- It is much harder to obtain credit if you are not on the register.
- It is a requirement of law to register.
When will your name be included in the Register?
In force from 16th October 2012
The register is usually compiled each year from the information requested from householders during the period August to November. However, in 2013 the annual canvass will commence in October with the new register of electors being published in March 2014. This is because the government is replacing the current voter registration system with a new individual registration system in 2014, and the register must be as up to date as possible before the new system is in place.
