Residents Attitude Survey

The results from the 2005 Residents Survey have shown the highest satisfaction levels yet with council services, with a big improvement since the last survey in 2001.

The survey asked the 1000 people who took part what they thought of a wide range of council services, and what they thought of the services provided by the council overall.

Quite a few of our services were very highly rated with over 90% of those responding saying they were either very or fairly satisfied and very few people expressing any sort of dissatisfaction.

Among those that were rated most highly were libraries, countryside services, housing benefit and schools. Among the areas with the highest levels of dissatisfaction it was clear that local people would like to see more services for young people, better leisure facilities, further work to improve public conveniences and bus shelters.
