Technium Performance Engineering is a partnership between the Welsh Assembly Government and Swansea University, and is supported by Camarthenshire County Council, the Welsh Automotive Forum, Aerospace Wales, Carmarthenshire College, Swansea Institute of Higher Education, the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) and European Union Objective 1 funding.
Technium Performance Engineering is an innovation centre supporting Research & Development within the performance engineering industry in Wales, with an emphasis on the automotive, aerospace and motorsport sectors.
The 2,200 sq m building is located at Llanelli Gate and includes 13 business units, a conference room, meeting rooms and training areas. The Llanelli Gate site covers 7.4 hectares (18 acres) providing excellent expansion opportunities for companies outgrowing the Technium facility.
The building incorporates an IBM Centre of Excellence in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and companies have access to this software and support in its use.
The Technium has strong links with Swansea University, particularly the School of Engineering; companies are able to access specialist technical assistance from R&D staff based at the Technium. Companies are also offered access to workshop space and equipment at Swansea University’s School of Engineering and Carmarthenshire College’s Engineering department. Companies are also able to access track testing facilities at the nearby Pembrey Circuit.
There are a number of options available to companies interested in accessing Technium Performance Engineering. These range from renting a dedicated unit, to renting a desk space within a shared unit, or becoming a virtual tenant through the Technium Associate Membership programme.
