Aug 2011 Wildlife Photography CompetitionThe beauty of Carmarthenshire's biodiversity has been captured by members of staff at the council who entered a Wildlife Photography competition this summer. Photos were submitted of species and habitats and the competition was judged by staff at the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales, who were impressed by the standard of photography and range of wildlife captured.
The winners are listed below along with a link to view the photos and highly commended photos. The range of habitats and species in Carmarthenshire (our biodiversity) influences our landscape and culture. The entries hopefully reflect that our wildlife gives pleasure, interest and an appreciation of our natural environment.
A range of habitats, including our coast, woodlands, hay meadows, parkland and uplands were captured in the habitat section of the competition, whilst insects and birds dominated the species category with dragonflies, butterflies and some dynamic action shots of birds.
