Pensioners Grant

Guidance Notes

At a meeting of the Finance and General Purpose Committee held on 4th February 1998, it was resolved to continue the policy of grant aiding O.A.P. groups within the County. Furthermore, it was decided not to restrict eligibility to those pensioner groups affiliated to the National Federation of Pensioners, the Welsh Pensioners or other similar bodies.

Grant aid is based on £1 per member, and will be determined using the following criteria:

  • Grant aid will only be paid to pensioner groups located within the County;
  • Grant aid will only be paid in respect of those members of a pensioner group who are bona fide pensioners;
  • Grant aid will only be paid in respect of those members of a pensioner group who reside within the County;
  • In the case of pensioners who may be members of more than one pensioner group within the County, the sum per member will be apportioned between the respective groups;
  • Applications for annual grant aid will be determined on the number of eligible members as at 30th September of each year;
  • The qualifying period for receipt of grant aid applications in respect of 2003/04 will be 1st October 2003 to 31st March 2004.
  • Applications must be made using the official grant application form (all sections to be completed)
