CHILDREN from Ysgol Dewi Sant in Llanelli have been having fun and learning about the environment with Eco Eli and Tidy Ted.
The council’s eco-friendly elephant hit the road with the all-singing and all-dancing Gregory Brothers and new friend Tidy Towns mascot Tidy Ted.
Together they have been spreading the word on issues such as waste reduction and recycling, litter and dog fouling.
Funded through grants from the Welsh Assembly Government, the fun-packed show is a partnership between Carmarthenshire County Council and Tidy Towns. It has been visiting Welsh language primary schools across the county.
Executive Board Member for Education Cllr Gwynne Wooldridge said: “The show helps to raise awareness of the environment and what we can do to protect it in a light-hearted and entertaining way.
“It educates the children on why we need to reduce and recycle our waste and the harm caused by littering and dog fouling in our towns and villages. It really is an excellent way of delivering these important messages to our young people so that they can learn and enjoy themselves at the same time.”
