High winds forecast

RESIDENTS in Carmarthenshire are being urged to take extra care with the Met Office warning of severe gales in some parts of Wales on Tuesday.
South to southwesterly winds will increase in strength during Monday night, with severe gales developing during Tuesday morning.
Winds will gradually ease down during Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Motorists are advised to take care if travelling as the high winds could result in fallen tree branches, possible debris being blown around and damage to temporary or weakened structures.
Council staff will be on working to deal with any problems caused by the weather, such as fallen trees on the highway, and will also be on standby in case of any emergencies.
Executive Board Member for the Environment Cllr Philip Hughes said: “The severe wind could cause some travel disruption. We are advising motorists, as always during extreme weather conditions, to please drive carefully.”
