YOUNG people living in rural parts of the County are being urged to take advantage of a brand new state of the art bus.
The Mobi bus, a mobile youth project delivered in partnership by Carmarthenshire Youth Service and Plant Dewi, visits rural parts of the Teifi, Tywi and Taf areas (3Ts) as a way of providing young people with vital information and facilities.
Young people will get the opportunity to participate in community based projects, foreign exchanges, multi media and workshops on issues affecting young people.
Chris Davis, 3Ts Senior Youth Officer said:
“We are delighted with this next phase of the partnership project with our new designer vehicle.
“Tackling rural issues for young people through mobile youth provision is the key to this project and we are so grateful for the support we receive from schools and community groups in making MOBI so successful.”
Executive Board Member for Children and Education Services, Councillor Gwynne Wooldridge added:
“It’s important that our services communicate with all young people, regardless of where they live in the County.
“It’s not always as easy for young people living in rural areas to access youth provisions that they may find in their local towns, therefore by having a facility such as the MOBI vehicle we are making sure that all young people are having equal opportunities to help develop their social and personal skills.”
The MOBI team also delivers sessions for schools and community groups. For further information or to book the facility, please contact Chris Davis on: 07789 371 151
