Gari Gosafe and Eco Eli helped to give a colourful and musical message to youngsters visiting the Carmarthenshire County Council marquee at the Royal Welsh Show yesterday (Thursday).

The council’s road safety and environmental mascots were joined by popular Ammanford entertainers the Gregory Brothers to perform songs from the show On the Road with Gari Gosafe and Eco Eli.
The show, which has Welsh and English language versions, has been taken to all the primary schools in Carmarthenshire.
The authority’s waste awareness and road safety units have joined forces for the roadshow.
The aim is to raise awareness of road safety and environmental issues in a fun way.
Road safety mascot Gari Gosafe has been the face of a major educational campaign in the county for some time.
Now Eli the eco friendly elephant has been introduced to educate children about issues such as recycling and litter.
They performed two sessions at the marquee at 10am and 2pm.
Elinor Davies, of Nantycaws, said: “My sons Osian, who is four, and Bedwyr, who is two, have enjoyed the show. We want to do more recycling.”
Tina Davies, of pentre Ty Gwyn, said: “The show is great and very entertaining for the children. My five-year-old daughter Corris has seen the full show at school.
“We do have recycling bags and we do our bit.”
The council’s environment executive board member Councillor pam palmer said: “These roadshows are an excellent idea and I am delighted that they have proved popular with schools.
“I am very pleased that Gari Gosafe, Eco Eli and the Gregory Brothers have been able to bring the message to the Royal Welsh Show. It is essential that children are educated about the environment and road safety.”
