SCARLETS player Dafydd Jones kicked off a multi-agency campaign to help and support parents in Carmarthenshire.
The ‘Y Bedol’ campaign, run by the Family Information Service, launched on Thursday, March 3, at Ysgol Y Bedol, Garnant.
A host of free weekly activities have been planned to attract families, including Zumba classes, cookery skills, art classes, healthy and beauty sessions, baby yoga and job interview techniques.
A range of professionals will be on hand at every event to advise parents on issues such as working, basic skills, child care, family support, health and wellbeing and child safety.
Amanda Toutt, children’s information co-ordinator, said: “These fun and informal events are an ideal way to engage with local families to introduce them to the range of support services we offer.
“There will be plenty of activities, aimed at empowering parents to become more confident, skilled and knowledgeable, and also lots of support and information from a range of local service providers.”
