Funky Dragon, the children and young people’s assembly for Wales, is undertaking a new project as part of the reporting process on the
United Nations on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
Funky’s United Nations Challenge (FUNC) will be visiting groups of young people across Wales to gather their views on the extent to which they are able to access their rights in Wales.
A workshop is being held for young people aged 11-25 living in Carmarthenshire to voice their views to Funky Dragon representatives at CAVS offices, Carmarthen on Wednesday, September 19 at 5:30pm.
The findings from the project will form a unique report which will be submitted in 2013 or 2014 to the UNCRC.
Cllr. Keith Davies, Carmarthenshire Council’s Executive Board Member for Education and Children’s Services, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to have their voices heard. I would encourage the young people to attend the workshop and to speak up on how effectively they can access their rights in the County or to discuss any barriers they may come across.”
