Carmarthenshire golf is, according to its local courses, as good as it gets.

Carmarthenshire boasts a variety of 9 and 18 holes courses to suit all abilities and challenge both the accomplished player and the novice. All courses offer affordable golf a warm welcome and stunning scenery to enhance the game.  

All within easy reach of each other are a wide array of different types of course, each with its own unique offering. These courses are in the process of banding together, along with quality accommodation to promote the region properly as a top golfing holiday destination. This is being done in collaboration with the Carmarthenshire Tourist Association and the tourism arm of Carmarthenshire County Council.

Garnant Park, with its superb USGA greens and very challenging course. There is a wide choice of other accommodation in the area, priced to suit all pockets.

Glynhir Golf Club in Llandybie, Ammanford was established in 1909 and is approaching its centenary. is also approaching its centenary.  It is a mature parkland, located in idyllic surroundings and wonderfully peaceful to play on. 

Ashburnham, one of the classic Welsh links courses in Carmarthenshire with championship status is located at Burry Port, just 3 miles from Llanelli. The Club has hosted many important tournaments including the British Home International Team Championships in 1994.

Glyn Abbey Golf Club, opened in just 1992, is just 4 miles up the road from there and is renowned for being the best technical layout in the whole of South Wales. A Hawtree design, every hole here is unique and offers its own challenge

The Machynys Peninsula. Carmarthenshire will also be the first to bring a unique Nicklaus Design style course to Wales - The Machynys Peninsula. A challenging, links style, par 72 course in a dramatic setting on the Machynys Peninsula on the edge of Carmarthen Bay over looking the Gower Peninsula.  

Carmarthen Golf Club is another almost centenarian course, having been established in 1907. Located 4 miles outside Carmarthen town, it is best described as undulating parkland and a good test of golf. Unlike many parkland courses, due to its high location the wind can play a major part just as on a links course.   

Derllys Court, a shorter 18 hole par 70 pay and play course is also nearby and does not require handicap certificates.
