Our new Policy for allocating council and housing association homes

Carmarthenshire County Council, together with our partner Housing Associations and following widespread consultation, has changed how we now allocate our homes.

We no longer have a housing waiting list.  This has been replaced with a housing register assessed on housing need.  Points are awarded by placing a household into 1 of 4 categories.  This ranges from Category A, which gives the highest points through to Category D, which gives the lowest points.

The following Housing Associations use the same policy to allocate homes:

  • Bro Myrddin Housing Association
  • Coastal Housing Association
  • Cymdeithas Tai Cantref
  • Family Housing Association
  • Gwalia Housing Group
