2activ8 Training – iSmooth Café – ‘Get Stuffed’ Printing Services

2activ8 is a joint venture between Carmarthenshire County Council and the Ammanford Junior Gateway charity and is based in the iSmooth Café, ‘Get Stuffed’ printing project and 2activ8 Training Offices in College Street, Ammanford.

Participants will be able to gain volunteer experience in the retail environment, by working as a sales assistant and catering assistant in the iSmooth Café and/or the ‘Get Stuffed’ printing and business solution project and receive training and support from 2activ8 Training. The scheme provides valuable opportunities for people with learning disabilities in Carmarthenshire, working within a social enterprise.

iSmooth Café is a supporter and seller of Fairtrade products and provides a friendly cafe atmosphere and training in customer service; stock control; cleaning; packing; numeracy; health & safety and food hygiene. The ‘Soft outcomes’, learnt at the project include 'Confidence building' and 'Customer Care'.

The ‘Get Stuffed’ project provides employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities in the form of undertaking packaging; printing leaflets; posters; business cards; booklets, news letters and distributing mail shots for businesses.

2activ8 Training provides training in work related skills for individuals with learning disabilities.
