Who determines planning applications?

Decisions on planning applications are taken either by the Planning Committee, which is made up of 22 elected Councillors, or by the Head of Planning under powers delegated to him by the Council.

However in some instances, legislation provides for decisions to be taken by the National Assembly. This process is known as ‘call-in’.

How do I view the Agenda for the Planning Committee?

All reports on planning applications are available for inspection by the public.  The Committee Agendas are made available three working days before the date of the meeting.  To view the agendas, click on the internal link above.  Minutes of the meeting are also available 5-10 days after the date of the meeting.  (Click on the date of the meeting, then click on the Minutes tab at the top of the page).

A supplementary addendum is prepared for the Board addressing any consultee responses and further representations received after the report was written.
