In accordance with guidance issued in the Local Development Plan Manual (Welsh Assembly Government 2006), the Authority invited landowners, developers, members of the public and other interested parties to propose sites for consideration for possible inclusion within the LDP. This consultation ran from the 2nd July to the 5 September 2008 and sites were invited for a range of proposals including housing, employment, tourism, retail, leisure, waste, amenity, open space, community facilities, health provision, protection from development and other uses.

The register is not a consultation document but has been made available for public inspection for information only. The sites contained within the register are sites that have been submitted for consideration and do not represent the Council’s proposed sites for development, and should not therefore be interpreted as a commitment by the Council to take forward any submitted site into the Local Development Plan.
 
For ease of reference, the categorisation of current and proposed uses of the sites have been simplified and the site area quoted is that calculated by the Authority using GIS.

Please note that this is not a comprehensive schedule of all the sites that will be considered in the production of the Deposit Local Development Plan, other sites may come forward if they are considered appropriate.

All sites will be assessed in due course as to their acceptability for development or for protection. Site assessment criteria will be published on the authority’s website in due course.

The Candidate Site Register is available to view in Customer Service Centres (from 02/02/09) or alternatively to download, by settlement as adobe acrobat files below. Please note that some of the files are very large and may take some time to download.

If a settlement is not listed , then no submissions have been received for that particular settlement. For smaller villages and hamlets please view the "open countryside" document.

Assessment of Sites

The consideration of sites submitted as part of the LDP process (including those sites contained within the Candidate Sites Register) has been undertaken in accordance with the Site Assessment Methodology.  The Assessment of Sites Paper details the outcomes of this process and the reasons for a site non inclusion or otherwise within the Deposit LDP.  The Assessment of Sites paper is available to view from the Useful Documents section to the right.

Sustainability Appraisal Score Cards

The score cards for each of the site options that have been analysed in GIS to systematically identify sustainability risks and opportunities are available to view in Annex 2 from the Useful Documents section to the right.
